How to Have an Unbeatable Super Bowl Party

While the Dallas Cowboys may not be in the Super Bowl once again, that doesn’t mean that we can’t have a little fun watching the game. There is always so much hype surrounding the event that it’s not just about the game; it’s also about the best commercials, who’s going to be singing the National Anthem, and how good the half-time show will be.

Did you know…

That Super Bowl Sunday is the second-largest food consumption day of the year, according to the Department of Agriculture. More than 8 million pounds of guacamole will be consumed on 14,500 tons of chips. The only other day where Americans consume more food than Super Bowl Sunday is Thanksgiving. (Which should come as no surprise)

So, if you’re getting ready to host your annual Super Bowl Party, here are a few tips to help you and your guest have a memorable night.

Have Fun with Your Food

Make serving easy by sticking to finger foods. It’s no secret that chips and dip are at the top of the list for Super Bowl faves, don’t forget the wings, pizza, burgers, or dogs. Consider setting up a buffet of the main food in the kitchen or dining area and putting appetizers such as cheese, crackers and veggies on the coffee table in the living room. Don’t forget to put down a tablecloth ahead of time.

Get Festive

It’s a party, have a little fun by hanging banners or streamers in the colors of your team. If your team isn’t playing, do a mix of both teams. Balloons shaped like footballs, football field tablecloths, and appetizers shaped as footballs make the perfect addition to any Super Bowl party.

Make Drinks Accessible

If your living space allows it, strategically place small coolers or tubs with iced down drinks in a few areas around the kitchen and living room. Now, guests won’t have to walk all the way to the fridge to grab a refreshment. Make sure to stock up on ice and that the coolers or tubs you’re using don’t leak. Better yet, go ahead and lay a towel under them.

Drinks

Speaking of drinks, make sure you offer plenty of options. Everyone has a different style when it comes to soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. Grab a variety of flavors for your guests to choose from. Depending on the size of the crowd, you may consider offering all the non-alcoholic drinks and asking those who want beer or wine to bring it themselves.

Seating

While you’ll find a lot of your guests standing and talking, it’s important to make sure that those who want to sit and enjoy the game have plenty of space to do so. If you have more people coming than you have seating for, considering asking some friends or family members to bring a few folding chairs with them. Consider putting out throw pillows or blankets for little ones to sit on if they want to be close to their parents during the gathering. The key is to make sure everyone is comfortable and having a good time.
